This small cast iron turn button (1 1/2 inches) was used as a closure on a cupboard or cabinet. One fastens it to the right door of a double-door cabinet with an old screw, loose enough to allow the button to turn. We suggest you use a flat-headed slotted steel screw or a round-headed black screw. The button then overlaps the other left door, keeping it shut. This is one of the most simple ways to keep the doors from swinging open and was used on very old pieces of furniture. This is an old, original button, from our old stock here at the store. The cast iron has most of its original black paint.
