This 1 1/4 inch wood-wheeled caster set is the typical size used on most furniture in the 1900s. In order to move furniture around on the wood floors of the vintage homes, these casters were attached to a variety of pieces of furniture. Today to find a matched set from this era–ones that are not broken or flattened–is difficult. We take a lot of time to search for these usable sets and restore them for you. The wheels are 1/2 inch wide. The stem that inserts into the leg is 1 1/2 inches long. The lift to the piece of furniture after inserting the casters is about 1 1/2 inches. The stem will fit nicely into a socket or sleeve, which can be pounded into a wooden leg first. The knob on top of the stem will lock into place. Caster sockets are sold elsewhere in our catalog.
