This hand-blown knob appears to have come from the Boston and Sandwich Glass Company of Sandwich, Massachusetts and dates from the mid-1800s. It is smaller than large 2-inch knobs featured elsewhere in our catalog. This clear glass knob has no pattern but is simply elegant.
The knob measures 1 3/4 inches across the top. The top is very flat or level. The base is 1 1/16 inches in diameter. The knob projects 1 1/4 inches from the surface. There are no chips or cracks.
The knob was made to grace a piece of furniture of the American Empire period or the early Victorian era. This is a rare piece.
