This flashed copper hinge was made by the Stanley Works of New Britain, Conn. The Sweetheart logo is stamped on the back of the hinge, which indicates that this one dates before 1935. Because of the flashed copper finish, we place this hinge to around 1920 to 1925. We have left this hinge as is. It has a dark varnish that gives the piece an aged look. The hinge is loose and ready to use.
The wing that is mortised into the frame measures 2 1/2 inches vertically and is one inch wide. The butterfly wing measures 2 1/2 inches vertically and is 1 3/4 inches wide. Including the ball finials, the hinges measures 3 1/4 inches tall. The off set is 3/8 inch. Screws will be provided.
