This cast or pressed glass knob was made to grace an American Empire piece of furniture or an early Victorian piece. This large knob, almost the size of a door knob, was secured to a large drawer. The Boston and Sandwich Glass Company of Sandwich, Massachusetts. was one of the earliest glass houses to produce pressed glass in the mid 1800s. They closed their doors in January of 1888.
This knob measures 2 inches across the top and stands 1 1/2 inches tall. The base measures 1 3/8 inches across. There is a chip on the base that is unnoticeable.
We do have a few of the original wide-headed bolts that were used to secure knobs like this one. Call us for availability. This knob does not come with a bolt.
