This old contraption is for stretching a small animal hide. It is 25 inches long and, when closed, 11 inches across the bottom. The iron stretcher has two hinges, one at the apex (top) and one at the bottom.,There are five slots for adjustment to vary the width of the frame. The bottom can be set at 7 1/2 inches to 11 inches wide. There are barbs on the side of the frame for fastening the hide. This is a fine vintage piece, and it would look neat just hinging on a wall of a cabin or den.
