Here at the store, we refer to this hook as a closet hook. This style of cast-iron hook was usually found in closets, on back porches, and fastened to the back of doors. It is a coat or robe hook with three prongs. The hook is also referred to as an “acorn” hook because of the acorn motif at the end of each prong. The acorn represented strength and hope.
The back plate of this hook measures 1 5/8 inches across and 1 1/4 inches vertically. The upper prong projects approximately 2 1/2 inches, and the lower prongs project 1 1/2 inches.
We have only dusted and oiled this hook. It is in excellent condition. Mounting screws will be included.
