This heavy, stout hook is called a school house hook because it is the type that was used in the back of the one-room school houses or along the hallway of the later framed school houses. With two mounting screws, this hook can hold heavy coats, school bags, and lunch pails.
The cast iron hook’s back plate measures 2 inches vertically and 1 1/2 inches across at the widest point. The upper arm extends 2 3/4 inches from the back plate; the lower arm 1 1/2 inches. Each arm is topped with the popular Victorian acorn motif. The hook still has its original black paint.
Two old steel screws will be provided.
