This knob is one of the most attractive Eastlake knobs in the store. The pair is heavily embossed with the typical Eastlake pattern on the top side and back side. The knobs date from 1870 to 1890. The knobs are belted. This is a two-piece construction where the bottom is snapped onto the top with a belt crimped tightly to hold the two pieces together.
This pair is probably cast bronze, which was a popular process during the late 1800s. The coloring is a deep warm bronze and heavy. The pair weighs 10 ounces.
Each knob is 2 inches round. They project approximately 1 7/8 inches from the surface. This pair is a piece of fine art from the late 19th Century.
