This latch is about as elegant as one can acquire. This Victorian piece dates to the late 1800s or very early 1900s. This one is unique because it has its matching keeper. The latch is heavy cast iron with a bronze plating, which was a popular finish in the 1880s. The fancy turn knob creates a special look for this latch.
The latch box measures 2 1/4 inches by 1 3/4 inches. The latch is a spring mechanism which is in very good working order. The keeper measures 2 1/4 inches by 1/2 inch. The latch with its fancy turn knob projects from the surface 1 1/2 inches.
