This wonderful old hinge was made by the Stanley Works company in New Britain, Conn. It has the sweetheart logo on the back which means that it was manufactured sometime between 1920 and 1935. The logo was to honor William Hart who was with the company from 1893 to 1919.
This hinge has a special effect because of the longer pointed wing, which is more uncommon than other butterfly hinges of this era. It is a steel hinge with a brass finish.
The flat surface hinge measures 3 inches across both wings. It is 1 3/4 inches vertically. The longer wing is 1 3/4 inches deep. The smaller wing is 1 1/8 inches deep.
We have cleaned and oiled the hinge so it is ready to use. Screws will be included.
