This unique back plate dates to about 1870 to 1890. It has the swing cover over the keyhole. The pattern has birds, flowers, bamboo, and dragonflies. The piece is heavy cast brass. Because it comes from the Eastlake era, it is a smaller plate than the Victorian door back plates.
The plate measures 5 3/4 inches vertically and 1 5/8 inches horizontally. The keyhole is 2 1/2 inches below the door knob hole. The plate is in very good condition. Screws will be provided.
