This beautiful pair date c. 1870 to 1890. During that period many hardware houses were working with cast bronze. This pair of hinges definitely have the Eastlake pattern. They are for shutters. Both of the hinges are marked as right-hand pieces–thus, will be used on a right-swing shutter door.
Lying flat, each hinge measures 2 1/2 inches horizontally and 1 3/4 inches vertically. The center portion is one inch wide. Each wing of each hinge, by itself, is 1 1/8 inches across. One half of the hinge lifts off so a shutter can be taken down and later replaced.
Screws will be provided.
