This cast-iron latch is a one-of-a-kind in our store. Even though it has no Victorian pattern, we still date this piece to around 1900. The brass knob and the age of the cast iron depicts a very old age. The latch is about twice as long as most others of this category. Therefore, it needs a very special place (eg. bathroom door or attic door). The body of the latch measures 3 1/2 inches and 1 5/8 inches wide. With the keeper, the overall length is 5 inches. It had original black paint, but most of the paint is now gone, showing a beautiful cast-iron patina. The latch is all original, including the keeper, and is in good working order. The brass knob makes this latch pop! We will include black flat-headed screws.
