One doesn’t find a cast-iron door set very often. This is the only one like this we have. The cast-iron door knobs are small with the hourglass necks, that make this set even more unusual. There are accompanying cast-iron back plates. The mortise lock is a cast-iron box from the early 20th Century. In short, this is such a neat set.
The mortise lock box measures 3 1/2 inches vertically and 3 inches horizontally. It is 1/2 inch thick. The front plate is thick brass/bronze and measures 5 1/2 inches by 7/8 inch.
Each cast-iron knob is 1 7/8 inches round and projects from the back plate 1 7/8 inches. The Art-Deco style back plates are 5 1/2 inches vertically and 1 3/8 inches wide. The knobs and back plates have a hammered iron look.
This set consists of 7 pieces: one mortise lock box, two door knobs, two back plates, a spindle, and a key for the lock box. We will also include two set screws and steel screws for the back plates.
This is an exceptional set.
