Here in Kansas, we call this contraption a “pump bucket.” It is a “bucket” that is hung from the spout of a windmill pump in order to help direct the water to a desired location. The mouth of the bucket receives a threaded pipe and that pipe is then laid out to direct the water to another tank, a garden, or trough.
This bucket is in new condition. The heavy cast iron bucket has a bail. The threaded mouth accepts a 1 1/4 inch pipe.
