These cast iron window stays are used to hold a sash window open. They are mounted on each side of the window. Turning the handle pushes the bar out against the window frame, keeping the window from sliding down. They have 1 1/4 inch hole centers. If the handle is extended horizontally, its full length is just under 2 1/2 inches. If the handle is turned vertically, similar to what is shown in the above picture, it measures just over 2 1/2 inches high. When fully turned, the bar is pushed out a 1/4 inch. It’s depth is 3/8 of an inch.
