This is a typical styled Chippendale pull. It has the well defined wings, a pineapple top knot and tail. This pattern has been used for at least two centuries to create a “welcome” attitude which the pineapple represented. This pull is stamped steel with a dark bronze-color patina. We have not cleaned the piece. It might possibly polish to a brass finish, but we prefer it as it is. This furniture pull probably graced a piece of furniture in the 1940s or early 1950s.
The back plate measures 3 3/4 inches horizontally and 2 1/4 inches vertically. The bail swings from two posts. The hole centers are 2 1/2 inches apart. Screws are inserted from the back of the drawer to thread into the posts. Screws will be provided.
