This Chippendale furniture pull comes from the 1940s or early 1950s. It has the very popular “pineapple” motif that has been around since the 1700s. The pineapple in furnishings represents “welcome” and has had staying power. Even today, we still see variations of this winged pattern. This pull is stamped steel and has a dark, aged patina. We have not cleaned the piece in order to preserve this patina.
The back plate measures 3 3/4 inches horizontally and 2 1/2 inches vertically. The hole centers are 3 inches apart. The bail swings from two posts. The posts extend from the back of the pull 1/4 inch and, thus, need to be embedded into the wood. Screws are inserted from the back of the drawer to thread into the posts. Screws will be included.
