Butterfly hinges like these usually can be found on kitchen cabinets. This pair has the flashed copper treatment which was popular from 1900 to the 1920s. The flashing on the copper-coated stamped steel hinges was somewhat fragile and through cleaning and use through the years would rub off. On this pair one hinge is bright and appears to have no black flashing, while on the other one, there is more flashing and wear. They are matching, but the flashing was not the same on any two pieces.
These flat front-surface hinges measure a full 2 1/2 inches across. They are 1 7/8 inches vertically. Each wing is 1 3/8 inches deep. The hole distance on the two outside screw holes is one inch.
The hinges are loose and ready to use. Twelve screws will be included.
