This is a single hinge. It is a large butterfly cabinet hinge. We refer to this as a “sweetheart” hinge because it has an etched heart on it with the letters “SW” for the Stanley Works Mfg. Company. All hardware marked with this heart was produced between 1920 and 1935. The logo was to honor William Hart who worked for the company from 1884 to 1919. He worked his way up through the company and brought the company into the 20th Century.
The hinge is also the familiar flashed copper which was used by Stanley from 1900 to the 1920s. This piece, however, did not receive much of the random black flashing. It has mostly the copper coating (over a steel base).
The hinge measures 2 3/8 inches vertically, not counting the ball finials. It is 2 7/8 inches wide. Each wing is 1 1/4 inches wide.
This is a fine, fine hinge. We just wish we had more than one. Screws will be included with your order.
