This early flashed copper back plate appears to have a bull’s eye or door knob shadow right in the middle of the plate. The metal plate was coated with copper and then flashed with a black lacquer, but a circle of copper survived after the black flashing. This plate is beveled and, therefore, does not lay flat on the surface.
The back plate measures 7 inches vertically and 2 1/4 inches horizontally. The keyhole is 2 1/4 inches from the center of the door knob hole. The bevel is approximately 3/8 inch deep.
The plate is in very good condition. We will provide the screws.
