This larger key escutcheon is for a passage door. It goes under the door knob and rosette over the key hole. This one dates to around 1900 to the 1920s. It has the “egg and dart” pattern which was very popular during that period. (Egg and dart represented birth and death.) This escutcheon is stamped steel with a copper finish that has been flashed with black lacquer.
The escutcheon measures 2 inches vertically and 1 1/4 inches horizontally. It does not lay flat, but is beveled or raised from the surface. It is in very good condition. Small brads will be included for mounting.
