This large butterfly hinge is in great condition. Because the flashed copper treatment of the early 20th Century did not endure very well, we are proud to present you with this fine hinge.
The plain half of the hinge is mortised into the frame of the door. It measures 4 inches vertically and 1 3/4 inches deep. The butterfly half of the hinge is fastened to the front of the door. This causes the spine and finials to protrude out away from the door and allows the door to swing freely. The fancy half measures 4 inches vertically and 2 3/4 inches deep. From ball finial tip to ball finial tip is 5 1/4 inches.
The hinge dates from 1900 to the 1920s. We have cleaned and oiled the hinge. It is ready to be used! Screws will be provided.
