This large pair of hinges date from about 1900 to the 1920s. They have the flashed copper treatment that was the rage during those years. The treatment was not durable, and many hinges have lost the beautiful sheen of the copper through the years. This pair is an exception. They not only have the beautiful finish, but they are the butterfly pattern. They are half-mortise hinges.
The plain half of the hinges, that are embedded into the frame of the door, measure 4 inches vertically and 1 3/4 inches deep (or wide). The butterfly half of the hinges, that is fastened to the front of the door, measure 4 inches vertically and 2 3/4 inches wide. This pair can be used on a left-hand door or a right-hand door. The pin can be flipped.
We have cleaned and oiled this pair. Screws will be provided.
