This beveled edged pocket-door pull plate has the flashed copper treatment. It is a metal plate that has been coated with a copper finish and then flashed with black lacquer. The treatment was very popular during the early years of the 20th Century.
The plate measures 7 inches vertically and 2 1/4 inches horizontally. The edge is beveled 3/8 inch. The inset measures 3 3/4 inches vertically and 1 3/8 inches horizontally. The keyhole is in the middle of this inset. The inset is 3/8 inch deep. However, when the plate is laid flat, it is not flush to the surface. The inset will have to be embedded into the door slightly in order to allow the plate to be snug up against the door.
The plate is fastened to the door with four screws, which are provided.
