The flashed copper treatment was used throughout homes during the early part of the 20th Century. The hardware had a metal base, coated with copper, and then flashed or sprayed with a black lacquer. This window sash lift has the copper finish around the edges while the inset and surface are black. We were able to acquire this piece still in its original paper wrapping. Therefore, it is in excellent condition.
The sash measures 3 1/2 inches horizontally and 1 1/2 inches vertically. The inset for the fingers measures 2 inches across and 3/4 inch wide. It is 3/8 inch deep. The beveled edge of the sash is approximately 1/4 inch deep. There are two holes in the sides of the inset for mounting to the window. Screws are not included.
