This beautiful door plate is in very good condition. Flashing was often times fragile and did not withstand years of abuse. The back plate comes from the very early 1900s when the flashed copper treatment was the rage. This plate is somewhat unusual, however, in that the copper coating and black flashing is over brass, not steel. The oval plate displays a beautiful leaf pattern around its edge.
The back plate measures 6 7/8 inches long and 2 1/4 inches wide. The distance between the door knob hole and the key hole is 2 1/4 inches. Screws will be included.
