This is a smaller set (in size) and is ideal for the more narrow drawers. As for Victorian patterns, this one is more simple and less frilly. We call it “flowers and drapes” because of the draped flowers at the top of the back plate. This set also was probably used on cheaper furniture of the era, for the hardware is stamped brass (instead of cast), and the bails are steel.
The back plates measure 3 5/8 inches across and only 1 1/4 inches vertically. The drop from the top of the plate to the bottom of the bail is 1 3/4 inches. The hole centers are 3 inches. Common eye bolts are used, which are fed from the front through the drawer and secured on the back with nuts. The steel bail is quite plain with a small thumbnail pattern.
The back plates are in very good condition, with very few flaws. All the bails match, and all the nuts are included.
