From out of the 1960s, we present to you this bar latch. This cabinet latch has the hammered copper finish to match the kitchen handles and hinges that were so popular in mid-century homes. This is the first one we have acquired from that era, and we are fortunate to have both pieces.
The full length of this latch, including its keeper, is 4 1/2 inches. The piece mounts flush with its keeper; it is not an off-set latch. The piece can be used on a left-hand or right-hand door.
The latch part with the bar measures 3 3/4 inches long and 2 1/2 inches tall. The bar extends beyond that by 3/4 inch. It projects 3/4 inch from the surface. The keeper’s back plate measures 2 3/8 inches vertically and 3/4 inch wide.
This is a rare latch. Screws will be included.
