This grouping consists of three pieces: an old hook, an old screw, and an old eye screw.
The iron, hand-forged hook’s total length is 3 3/4 inches. From the eye’s base to the hook’s tip, it is 3 1/4 inches. There is a manufactured twist in the middle. To fasten the hook to the door or gate, we have included an old round-headed screw. It is to be screwed into the door, but not tightened down, allowing the hook to move up and down. The keeper or holder for the hook, that is mounted on the opposite door or frame, is an old eye screw. It is 1 1/2 inches long and has an eye measuring 3/4 inch.
This is an old-fashioned way of securing a door or gate.
