This old hand-forged hook has a twist to it. The iron hook is 5 inches long and 1/4 inch thick. Its keeper is an old eye screw, with an eye measuring 3/4 inch round. It screws into the wood 3/4 inch.
The hook is fastened to the door or gate with a round-headed steel screw that is one-inch long.
This old-timer reminds us of the olden days when all we were concerned with was keeping the door from flapping in the wind.
