This old heavy brass latch was meant to mount on a transom window (above a door) with the ring-side down. The ring could be pulled via a chain or hand hook to release the latch so the window could be opened. , The body of the latch measures 2 3/16 inches by 1 1/4 inches. With the keeper the overall piece measures 2 inches square. The entire length of the latch including the ring pull is 2 7/8 inches. Old latches such as this are hard to find. Brass screws are included.
