Most of the stamped brass pulls we get are thin, but this set has back plates that are a heavy-weight stamped brass. We call it “Sea Shell.” We have not done anything with these four except dust and store. The plates appear to have been treated, at some time, with a golden coating. We know that some companies did this with the hardware for an unknown reason. It could very well be original.
The back plates measure 4 1/2 inches across and 2 inches vertically. The hole centers are 3 inches. The drop from the top of the plate to the bottom of the bail is 2 3/4 inches. The eye bolts are steel and the wide, low slung bail is steel with a small amount of beaded décor.
The set is in excellent condition. There are no dents or dings. All four bails match and all the nuts are included. The set probably dates to around 1900 to 1910.
