This set is a family. That is our term meaning that the set has always been together and comes from the same piece of furniture. The set consists of 4 matching hinges and two latches with keepers. From the stamp on the back of the hinges, we know they were made by the Rockford Manufacturing Company probably sometime between 1905 and 1925.
The hinges are off-set to allow for the door that “off sets” from the frame of the cabinet. This off set is 3/8 inch. The wing that attaches to the frame measures only 1/2 inch wide and 1 1/2 inches vertically. The wing that fastens to the door measures 1 1/2 inches long and 1 1/2 inches wide at the widest point.
The turn latches measure 2 1/8 inches vertically and have hole centers of 1 1/2 inches. They are one inch wide, not counting the bar. The springs are intact and working. The keepers that fasten to the frame measure 1 3/8 inches vertically and 1/4-inch wide.
The set is somewhat rough, but we have cleaned and oiled the pieces.
Screws will be included.
