This latch is marked “Hoosier” and has a patent date of 1910 stamped on it. It has the flashed copper finish, which was popular from 1900 to the 1920s. Therefore, we can date this piece fairly accurately. The latch is for a right-hand door.
The oval back piece of the latch measures 1 3/4 inches vertically and 7/8 inch across. It is fastened on to the door with two screws. The catch piece is 3/4-inch long.
The keeper, which mounts to the cabinet, measures 1 3/8 inches long and 1 /4-inch wide.
The latch has the needed spring and works. Screws will be included.
