Here at the Old Hardware Store we have some new auger (or brace) bits that have been in stock for some time. This #13 Irwin bit still has the “Wyeth Company” string tag. The Wyeth Hardware Company, which started business in St. Joseph, Missouri in 1860, went out of business sometime around 1986. The bit is 9 inches long and the brace end measures a square 3/16th of an inch to a tapered 3/8 inch. USA made, of course.
