By the sight of this awesome pair, they must have been meant for a large drawer. The heavy cast-brass back plate is 2 1/8 inches round. The tear-drop disc is one and 1/2 inches round. There is a hole at the base of the back plate for a small screw or brad in order to fasten the back plate securely. We guess this pair to date c. 1890 – 1920. Because of the pair’s brass density and eloquent appearance, Margaret has noted this item as one of her favorites. ,Screws are included. The brass has its natural patina—we have not touched this pair with cleaner.
