This pair of hinges lie flat. There is no allowance for an off-set door. The door of the ice box or lid of a box would inset into the frame. The hinge is in the back plate and the wing is mounted onto the door or lid.
The pair have been nickel plated. The plating has worn thin through the years, but the hinges are still in very good shape.
The back plate measures 1 1/2 inches horizontally and 2 1/4 inches vertically. The wing that screws to the door or lid measures 3 inches long and 2 inches vertically. Only 2 1/8 inches of this wing, however, will fit on the door. (the other 3/4-inch is in the swing of the hinge)
This is an unusual pair, and we estimate that they date to the early 1900s. Nickel-plated screws will be included.
