This latch with the big “S” was made for a Sellers kitchen cabinet. It dates between 1905 and the 1920s. The latch is for a right-hand cabinet door that is not off set. It is a brass piece, but has been plated with nickel. Some of the plating is thin in places.
The back plate of the latch measures 2 1/4 inches vertically and 1 1/8 inch across (wide). The length, including the bail, is 2 3/4 inches. It is fastened to the door with two screws.
The brass keeper, that mounts on the cabinet, measures 1 3/8 inches long and 1/4-inch wide.
This is a fine old piece. Screws will be included.
