One of the most beautiful patterns that P. & F Corbin Company made was the “Roanoke” pattern. The Victorian pattern was introduced in 1905. This cast bronze set has two matching back plates and a pair of matching door knobs.
The back plates with their fan pattern accentuated with leaves, buttons and curves, measure 7 7/8 inches long and 2 inches wide. The door knob hole is 2 1/4 inches above the key hole. They are solid cast. The door knobs are 2 3/8 inches round. They are constructed of two pieces, with the top snapped or crimped over the base. As shown, the neck of these knobs are not straight, but have a flange. The pattern does not extend to the backside of the knobs.
The patina on this set is outstanding. The golden bronze is gorgeous. The spindle and set screws are included.
