This large pressed glass hollow knob is quite old. It appears to be what is called “sandwich glass” from as early as the 1860s. It is almost as large as a door knob, but it probably was use on a large chest, mounted with a bolt.
The knob measures 2 inches across the top and projects from the surface of the drawer 2 inches. Across the base, it is 1 7/8 inches. The hole accommodates a 1/4-inch bolt that would have to be at least 2 3/4 inches long.
This is a one-of-a-kind in our store.
