Crystal (glass) door knobs are normally 2 to 2 1/4 inches in size–like other door knobs. You can imagine our surprise when we found this 1 3/4-inch miniature glass door knob. It is an octagon- shaped knob with the “star” in the center.
The neck of the knob is also unusual, flashed copper, which is uncommon in glass door knobs. Because of this copper treatment, we guess this knob to date from 1900 to 1920.
The knob is meant to be screwed onto a threaded spindle. A set screw is with the knob.
