Spice jars, such as this pair, were used in the early years of the 20th Century in the popular Hoosier and Sellers kitchen cabinets. A complete set of canisters would include the flour, sugar, tea, and spice jars. Spice jars of the various brands of cabinets were about the same size, but the patterns were different. This pair has a ribbed pattern and a small “window” for a sticker to identify the spice. One of the pair already has the label of “cloves” on the jar.
Both jars are 4 inches tall and 2 inches round. They have their original lids. The clove jar lid, however, has some dents and dings. The jars themselves are not chipped or cracked.
