This very old hollow brass stamped knob was used on a spool cabinet. It measures 1 1/4 inches across the top and projects from the surface of the drawer 1 1/4 inches. The knob was made in two pieces. The top was crimped onto the base. The base has an added stem which is inserted into the front of the drawer. This narrow stem is then secured to the back of the drawer with a small steel finger or wedge.
With the knob is a back plate. It is stamped brass and measures 1 3/8 inches round. In the center of the plate is a slit for the arrow stem.
This is a very hard-to-find knob, especially with all the pieces (back plate and wedge). We were fortune enough to come across several. We may not be able to replace them when they are gone.
