This set of four is typical of the Victorian age the of 1880s to 1915. We call this pattern the “Royal Crown” because of the crown-like motif that bulges from the center of the plate. The steel bail also has quite an elaborate pattern.
The back plates are made of fairly heavy stamped brass. Simple eye bolts are used to hold the steel bails. The back plates measure 4 1/4 inches across by 1 1/2 inches vertically. The drop from the top of the plate to the bottom of the bail is 2 inches. The hole centers are 3 inches.
The set is in very good condition. There are a few small dings or dimples in the brass, but realize that these pieces are some 100 years old.
