This beautiful pull dates to the Victorian era, 1870-1915. The back plate is stamped brass and the bail is decorated steel that hangs from two steel eye bolts. The piece has been varnished. This was a common practice a hundred or so years ago. The thin coat of varnish makes the brass appear to have a copper color. Because of the protective coast, the bail is shiny.
The back plate measures 5 inches horizontally and 2 inches vertically. The total drop including the bail is 2 1/2 inches. The hole centers are 3 inches apart. The bail is 4-inches wide. Nuts are included for the eye bolts.
