This furniture pull is from the Eastlake era, 1870 to 1890. The shape of the back plate and the square cornered bail tells us this is an Eastlake piece. The beautiful song bird motif that is stamped onto the back plate makes this pull unusual and special. The back plate is stamped brass; the posts are fancy brass; and the bail is decorated cast brass.
The back plate measures 4 1/2 inches horizontally and 1 7/8 inches vertically. The total drop including the bail is 2 inches. The hole centers are only 2 3/4 inches –not the normal 3-inch spread we see in other Victorian hardware.
This one is a piece of art and absolutely exquisite!
