The Stanley Works hardware company has been in the hardware business since 1843. In 1920, however, the company devised a special logo to be stamped on all of its hardware. The heart logo with the letters “SW” inside was to honor their president William Hart who was at the helm of the company from 1893 to 1919. We call these pieces “Stanley Sweetheart” hardware.
This hinge is such a piece. It has the stamped heart on the back. It, therefore, dates from 1920 to about 1935.
This steel hinge is a small one. We have cleaned and oiled it. It has a 3/8 inch off set for the door. Each wing measures 7/8 inch across and 1 1/2 inches vertically.
We will include screws.
