On the front face of this hinge is an etched crest that says: “The Bommer Spring Hinge.” This early 20th Century hinge is a strong spring hinge meant to be used for screen (or other) door where a self-closing feature is desired. The tension of the spring can be set with a nail or pen.
The flashed copper hinge measures 5 1/2 inches from tip to tip. Each wing measure 4 inches vertically and one inch wide. For strength, there are four mounting holes in each wing. Across both wings and spine, the hinges measures 3 inches.
The piece is in very good condition. Screws will be included.
